Connor Hughes Studio |

I am a visual artist working and studying painting and drawing at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Whether working in my studio or en plein air, I find unique connections to landscapes and figures while using acrylic paint or charcoal. These two media in particular allow me to blur the lines between impressionist and surrealist visuals, while also incorporating elements of world building and storytelling. My work focuses on historical narratives as well as capturing moments in time. I use architectural perspective and find compositions of landscapes that blend the environment with human beings. These connections between the thoughts, history, and feelings within moments in time allow me to document the world as it relates to my human experience.
